Fatima has been with the Ontario Restaurant Hotel & Motel Association since the merger in 1999.  In her capacity of developing marketing and benefit programs for its members, the priority will always remain the member and ensuring that we as Ontario's largest hospitality association provide value added programs and resources to our members across the province.  Resources of great interest include training and energy where Fatima will always hold the kilowatt and cubic metre in high regard as these areas affect our sectors 2 highest cost centres being utility costs and labour costs.  

Her extensive hospitality management background provided her with experience from Holiday Inns, Venture Inns, Travelodge & Quality Inn properties.  This experience led her to teach for a number of years at Humber College of Applied Arts & Technology.

Fatima is fluent in 3 languages (English, French & Portuguese) and attempts to make Irish her 4th official language.  She resides in Toronto with her husband and daughter where the role of wife and mother are equally exciting!

Morcela and inhames (blood sausage and portuguese yams)

Favourite alcoholic drink is a margarita and my favourite non-alcoholic drink is milk with ice.

What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?
I am an accomplished cello player and starred in a CBC movie production as first set cello player

What was your first hospitality or customer service job?
I started in the laundry room of the Holiday Inn and learned everything about cleaning linens and pressing including singing gospel music with Dira! My mothers extensive Housekeeping experience was an inspiration to me!
