McGuinty Government Assigns New Roles To MPPs

On Nov 9th Several Ontario MPPs accepted new assignments.  Parliamentary assistants work with ministers to make sure government objectives are achieved. They regularly represent ministries during legislative debates and are responsible for special projects.

The Premier made the following changes to the parliamentary assistant portfolios:
• Laura Albanese becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Labour
• Lorenzo Berardinetti becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Attorney General
• Donna Cansfield becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Economic Development and  
  Innovation (Economic Development)
• Mike Colle becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Natural Resources
• Michael Coteau becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Tourism and Culture (Culture)
• Grant Crack becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural  
   Affairs, and to the Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs
• Dipika Damerla becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Infrastructure
• Bob Delaney becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education
• Vic Dhillon becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Transportation
• Joe Dickson becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister Responsible for Seniors
• Kevin Flynn becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities
• Monte Kwinter becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Economic Development and  
  Innovation (Economic Development)
• Dave Levac becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Economic Development and 
  Innovation (Innovation)
• Tracy MacCharles becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Children and Youth Services
• Amrit Mangat becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Consumer Services
• Bill Mauro becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Northern Development and Mines
• Reza Moridi becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Energy
• Yasir Naqvi becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Finance, and to the Chair of the   
  Management Board of Cabinet
• David Orazietti becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier
• Teresa Piruzza becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, and 
   to the Minister Responsible for Women's Issues
• Shafiq Quaadri becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Government Services
• Mario Sergio becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing
  (Housing)
• Soo Wong becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional 
  Services
• David Zimmer becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing
  (Municipal Affairs), and to the Minister of Aboriginal Affairs

The following MPPs remain in their parliamentary assistant portfolios:
