The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) is a national tourism marketing organization. Marketing efforts for Canada are in 12 countries and consumer markets where there is the highest potential for return on investment: Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States-and right at home in Canada. Their job is to inspire travellers to jump on an airplane or hop in their cars and explore our country, any time of year.
The CTC works in collaboration with the tourism industry, the governments of Canada, the provinces and the territories to position Canada as a place where travellers can create unique and extra-ordinary personal experiences. Lead by demonstrating the powerful advantages of single, strong, consistent global tourism personality for Canada through Canada's tourism brand, "Canada. Keep exploring."
CTC Mandate The CTC is a Crown corporation wholly owned by the Government of Canada, and is accountable to Parliament through the Minister of Industry. Their legislated mandate is to:
- Sustain a vibrant and profitable Canadian tourism industry.
- Market Canada as a desirable tourism destination.
- Support a cooperative relationship between the private sector and the governments of Canada, the provinces and the territories with respect to Canadian tourism.
- Provide information about Canadian tourism to the private sector and to the governments of Canada, the provinces and the territories.
