ORHMA's Green Suites Energy Savings Program The Green Suites Program is an ORHMA energy conservation program for the hotel and motel sector in Windsor. Through the Green Suites program, ORHMA along with Summerhill Group and EnWin Utilities are working with hotels/motels and providing them with financial incentives for the energy efficient upgrades they make. To date Green Suites has received a number of applications and has seen hotels receive incentive cheques between $900 and $5600. Green Suites is a program that offers cash incentives for retrofits, but also provides opportunities for key hotel staff to learn about new technologies, how to jump into energy conservation and start greening up your entire operation. Lighting, heating and cooling; even motors and sensors have become much more efficient in the last few years. New equipment offers the great performance that you want for your hotel plus far greater efficiency than ever before. Green Suites is open to all hotel and motel owners with a commercial account with EnWin utilities. However, if your hotel lies outside EnWin territory, there are other programs from your utility which have similar incentives. And the learning opportunities from Green Suites will help everyone in the industry green up their operations and take advantage of incentive opportunities. It is easy to participate and the 2010 incentives are even bigger. If you’ve done any energy efficient upgrades – upgrading your lighting, exit signs, motors etc. in the past year and have your invoices ... you could qualify for some incentives. Or, if you are planning on doing some energy efficient upgrades in 2010 you can also apply and once the work is completed receive your incentive cheque. Don’t wait!
