  • Housing and Short-Term Rentals
    • ORHMA recommended implementing a provincial registration model, enhancing platform accountability, and fostering collaboration among federal and municipal authorities to ensure effective regulation enforcement. Ongoing discussions with provincial ministers and stakeholders aim to address these housing issues comprehensively and sustainably.
    • ORHMA commissioned a study, executed by the Urban Politics and Governance research group, to determine the impacts that STR’s are having in the province of Ontario. The report concluded that, Ontarians paid over $2B higher rent in the last five years due to short term rentals. This impact will strengthen and support our advocacy efforts.
