The Ontario Restaurant Association was formed in 1928, and in 1944 the restaurant association supported the creation of the Canadian Restaurant Association.
The Ontario Restaurant Hotel & Motel Association (ORHMA) was formed on July 1, 1999 as a result of the amalgamation of the Ontario Hotel & Motel Association and the Ontario Restaurant Association.
